Keauhou Canoe Club offers two High School Scholarships

Keauhou Canoe Club is pleased to announce two separate $1500 scholarships available to graduating high school seniors in West Hawaii.  Students must be pursuing continuing education at the trade school, community college, university or college level. The James F. Rogers Academic Scholarship is awarded to an outrigger canoe paddler (at the club or high school sport level in the past 3 years) who has shown excellence in academics, extra-curricular activities, and community service.  The Mike Haines Merit Achievement Scholarship is awarded to a paddler (at the club or high school sport level in the past 3 years ) who has demonstrated wide-ranging extra-curricular activities at school, church, work, outstanding community service, as well as high academic potential.   We are recognizing leadership skills, initiative, responsibility, integrity, a diligent work ethic, and dedication to successful activities.  Applications include your transcript and SAT and ACT scores, a personal statement and  three letters of recommendation from a school staff member, community member, and your paddling coach, The deadline is May 1, 2020 for materials to arrive at Scholarship Chair, Keauhou Canoe Club, PO Box 390755, Keauhou HI 96739.
