Keauhou Canoe Club offers Academic and Achievement Scholarships

Keauhou Canoe Club is committed to a core value of Keauhouʻs Mission Statement to ʻeducate our youthʻ. Since its inception in 2008 Keauhou has awarded two (one year) college scholarships to eligible high school seniors who reside in West Hawaiʻi. This year the tradition continues with the James F Rogers and Mike Haines Scholarship awards.
The value of continuing education is vital yet the cost of continuing education can be staggering. Scholarships provide opportunities to students and their families to pursue goals that may not be achieved without financial assistance. Here is a brief overview:

$2,000.00: James F Rogers Scholarship is based upon strong academic achievement, active participation in the community and at least three years of active paddling with a school sponsored athletic program or West Hawaiʻi canoe club.
$2,000.00: Mike Haines Achievement Scholarship focuses on academic achievement, active leadership and involvement in school, community, church and/or employment and at least three years of active paddling with a school sponsored athletic program or West Hawaiʻi canoe club.

The attached document outlines criteria and application. Please submit completed application by no later than May 1st, 2023.

Several award winners learned of the program early on in middle school and used criteria to set goals in high school.

Keauhou Canoe Club is proud to offer opportunities to support continuing education and growth in the community.
